T-shirt Sayings

Jeremy and I have come up with a list of t-shirt sayings that would help women get through this initial period of telling people we are pregnant without it consuming every conversation, especially those with complete strangers.

  1. No, this is not a beer belly, I am pregnant
  2. Yes, I'm pregnant, I know no one actually drinks non-alcoholic beer because they like the taste
  3. I promise I used to be fun, now I'm just tired
  4. Yes, I'm bigger than most, I'm growing 2 people
  5. If I don't know you, please don't touch
  6. Please do not advise, I have doctors for that
  7. I don't care how long you were in labor

So, yes, these may seem a little harsh and it might be my moodiness talking, but seriously. If you have been there or know anyone who has and have any to add to the list, leave a comment...

I think I would buy just about every single one of those t-shirts if you guys ever decide to make them. Since I'm only expecting a singleton, I would have to switch out the one about 2 babies for something that says something like "I'm only 8 weeks, so that belly you insist on rubbing is really a couple months worth of constipation."

I've never been pregnant yet, so I don't know what it's like to have people want to touch my pregnant belly, but a comparable thing that you'll go through in a few months is random strangers touching your baby(s). When my daughter was 3 days old she was a little jaundice so we had to take her to the hospital so they could take blood and I just remember sitting in the waiting room and having a 90ish year old lady reach down and touch her. I said (actually just thought) "We're in a hospital, I don't know what you have, you don't know what's wrong with her, do you really need to touch her?"

Those are great ideas.

My wife, who is 19 weeks, bought one that said "dying for caffeine".

I'm sure there's a market for your t-shirt ideas.

I would buy all of the t-shirts if I was pregnant again. I would like to see one that says "Yes, I am still pregnant"1
