Trip to the Movies = Failure

It feels more like monsoon season in Indiana than the peak of summer, so after it rained EVERY bit of the night last night, I knew our outdoor activities were limited for the day. That coupled with the fact that Lilly has some weird summer cold, I was looking for entertainment. There are only so many puddles to jump in before this mom gets tired. I decided it was a perfect day to try one of the local $1 movie matinees for kids (and a tub of buttery, artery clogging popcorn for me). I checked online and the nearest theater was playing "Alvin & the Chipmunks" so we put on our rainboots and headed out. Arriving at the theater, we learned that the movie was "Kung Fu Panda" instead and I knew the outcome wouldn't be good. Addy's never been to the movies before and Lilly has only gone once, so I worried this wasn't a good starter movie for them, but we were there, so we bought our popcorn and settled in....

Then a mere 28 minutes after the movie began, we headed home....not quite ready for Kung-Fu Panda just yet.

Poor Lilly with a summer cold but she still looks happy! Sorry the movie did not go quite to plan but they will be ready very soon. You did not report that poor Jeremy's charity golf tournament was cancelled because of the atrocious weather. We are off to see Aunt Cat this weekend but will be back out to Indy the following week.Hope the rain goes away with Lilly's cold and she does not pass it on to Addy.

I don't know what it is about that movie (I personally think it's hilarious), but Chase can't stand it. It was on HBO a couple of months ago and he refused to so much as look at it.

I'm sorry their first movie didn't go well -- maybe Toy Story 3? :)

Cute story, at least the pictures turned out great!

Sounds like a very familiar story with Tyson and "Bolt" however, he sucessfully made it through Storytime live (much more action) and Toy Story III back to back weekends!

Hi Aimee,
Haven't been here for a while to check in on you! :) My Lily is 5 and we haven't been to the movies yet. She doesn't like "Bad guys" and that includes Sid, the neighbor boy, in Toy Story. Any suspense and she gets so upset. If I can't get her through one feature length at home, then I haven't gotten brave enough to spend $$ and TIME to go home after 28 minutes! Good for you for trying. Great to catch up on your lovely girls. So glad Addie is okay after her fall. Happy Summer to you! Sort of, we've reached 80 twice this year in Portland!
