Divide & Conquer

Divide & Conquer is a term we use a lot around our house. We typically do this once a weekend or so, where one of the girls will run around town with me and the other will stay home with daddy to "help" with chores around the house. We flip-flop who goes with who and we all agree it's a lot easier with one than both. A & L have been fighting A LOT recently. It seems whatever toy one has, the other one wants it. We can be at the playground, splash park, swimming pool, wherever, and they seem to be on each others nerves! So, the weekend rolled around and Jeremy wanted to haul our old patio furniture up to his parents lakehouse and I had my own agenda of things I needed to do here, so we planned for our first overnight D & C.

Addy stayed home with me and we had a lot of fun! She was a bit uneasy watching Jeremy and Lilly pull out of the driveway, but as soon as I asked her what she wanted to do, she was good to go! She said she wanted to "Play with babies and do puzzles." So, we played with baby dolls and did A LOT of puzzles (her new favorite thing to do right now). We had great uninterrupted conversations, we shopped one-on-one, we got pedicures, hung with Grandma & Grandpa Sadler and made breakfast together.

This might have been taking 'girl time' a bit too far!

Ms. Lilly went north with Jeremy and Uncle Joe. She got to ride in Uncle Jon's "BIG BLACK TRUCK", ride on Grandpa Dave's boat, hang with some members of the extended Ash family and got a lot of one-on-one attention. What was her favorite part of the night when asked?? "I had bacon at breakfast." She is most definitely an Ash!

Daddy-Daughter Bonding!

When all was said and done, it is something we'll do again! It isn't easy to make that extra effort to get to know twins as individuals, but it's important not only for us to do but for our families to do as well! We are looking forward to the next swap!

I want to be invited next time for the pedicure treatment...and I will be requesting to sit in a little girl chair so I can catch up on my Disney movies! :) Love this idea and glad it worked out so well!

Aimee ... this is something that we need to do so much more! Thanks for the reminder ... it is so easy to couple the twins together. Tyson is always treated to something special, but we need to to the same with Jaxson and Dakota!
