Mother's Day 2012--Artwork included!

Addy & Lilly are loving any kind of 'craft' time, so I'm sure they LOVED doing this activity with Ga Ga Jody. They were neatly rolled & tied with a bow to give to me on Mother's Day this year. Doesn't get much cuter?!

Spring Highlights

We love Springtime and this Spring has been no exception. We've been busy with dance classes and are ready for the Spring recital next weekend. We are in the middle of the Spring soccer season and are seeing improvements in their efforts since Fall. We've had friends over for our first BBQ of the season and took our first visit to the zoo! Yesterday, we even hit up a local high-school for their production of Beauty & the Beast and the girls got to meet the cast. Here are some picture highlights:

Hot dogs-strawberries-carrots-2nd generation friends-doesn't get much better!

Daddy went out of town for the weekend, so Uncle Jon coached their team--it was chilly, but they were troopers!

The zoo is best shared with friends!

Mommy & the girls!

Dress rehearsal before the recital (yes, that's ringworm on Addy's arm, no idea where it came from, but luckily it went away with cream as quickly as it arrived!)

They loved the characters! We can't wait for Disney! 6 months & counting!

Easter 2012

It was the first year they weren't afraid of the bunny. It was the first year that I didn't restrict candy intake and therefore it was the first year we were still awake at 10:30 p.m. Lilly complained her basket was too small and Addy started filling up her dress with the egg overflow. We gathered with 4 generations for brunch and I don't think my girls realize how special that really is. Hopefully one day they will. Enjoy the pictures. Note for next year: plan to dress warmer (it was chilly in Indy)

Rainy Day Art Time!

We haven't really seen any rainy days, but the truth is we've been stockpiling the toilet paper rolls for this craft since Christmas when we got a cool art project book from Santa. So, Sunday, we tackled the project and the girls had a blast!

Supplies:
  • Toilet paper rolls & kitchen paper towel rolls
  • 1 cardboard box (we used large granola bar box/ a rectangular kleenex box would work too)
  • Card stock or construction paper
  • Paints (you don't need to paint, but that was their favorite part)
  • Glue (we used a hot glue gun)
Steps:
  1. Cut semi-circle card stock pieces that can fold and make cones for the castle tops. Staple to close securely.
  2. Assemble the castle the way you want it to look (we took a picture to remember how to put it back together after painting)
  3. Paint all the pieces
  4. Re-assemble using glue gun-add details (square pieces for windows, stickers in the front, etc)
  5. The girls are using this as their 'jewelry' display for their pasta necklaces and valentines day rings and such they have been collecting. They were so proud to show off to Daddy!

Addy--the more abstract artist of the two!

Lilly--focusing in on the details and asking LOTS of questions!
