Summer Fun Continues

I'm not sure where they get their energy from, but the days are long and exhausting and naps keep getting shorter & shorter! The laughter and giggles keep me going. Here are some outdoor shots taken a few weeks ago but found when I cleaned off my camera!

Back to the Grind...

Well, if "Back to the grind" you mean splash parks, blow-up pools in the backyard, sprinklers and A LOT of popsicles. It's tough being 2, right??? The important thing is that Addy has had no ill effects from the fall last week and only remembers it as the "boo-boo that made me go to the regergency doctor", so we are thankful! We've been dodging thunderstorms and having summertime fun. Knowing I can't put my baby in a bubble, I've done my best to just let things go. We went to our annual twins club summer picnic and the girls LOVED every minute of it. Enjoy the pictures below, most of them courtesy of the uber-talented Jennifer--so thanks!
Lilly giggles as she pours water over everyone's feet and thinks it's hilarious!

Signs of Summer

  • Mommy needs a pedicure
  • Daddy's left arm is more tan than the right because he drives around town all day making sales calls
  • We spend more time at the park than in our house
  • The grill seems to be always on
  • Indoor chores get neglected
  • Neighbors are friendlier
  • Last day of pre-school for the year (today--yikes!)
  • Trips to the lake looming
  • Smiling faces at the pool
  • Picnics with Dad...

It's gotta be the shoes...

Raising daughters won't always be this easy, but these girls learned a valuable lesson very early in life.....rainy days look better if you're wearing really cute shoes...

We are on day 3 of gloom & rain in Indy this week...
Lilly, quick to tell me that she couldn't get her hair wet--"It be ruined mommy"

Oh, my Addy, those eyes melt your mama's heart

My little Mermaids....

From the local splash park, to backyard fun, to the boat on Lake Tippecanoe, these girls LOVE the water. And, if you know Indiana, IT IS HOT--so this is a great way to get lots of energy out of them and cool them down. We are frequently woken up in the mornings to our chatterboxes on the monitor..."ool", "outsiiiiiide", "oat ride". I tell you, not even 2 yet, and they know exactly how to tell you what they want.

Sisterly love..."I'll go, if you go."...."Let's just go together."

Buckets of any kind + water = fun

If only we all could be so confident in our bathing suits...
Addy...a bit more interested in watching the big kids...

"If only I was taller..."

"Don't worry Grandpa, I'll help navigate this ship."--Lilly, a born seawoman
Addy, happier hanging out with our friend Teague, doing what she does best...looking beautiful!
"COLD MAMA-COLD"

She didn't believe her sister and thought she'd try it out for herself...

And after a long day on the boat, Lilly did what any sensible 2 year old would do...

We had LOTS of visitors last week, so pics to come--Jenny, send me some!

Sunny days!

Another fun week at the Ash house. This is such a fun age! Addy's crawling (well, right now it looks like part army crawl, part inch worm, but she's moving forward on her belly and I think that counts). Ms. Lilly surprised us both on Saturday while we were driving, she blurted "Da Da." It was clear as anything and it was very cool that Jeremy and I were both with her (there was a witness!). She proceeded on blabbing it most of the weekend in a way that really said to Addy, "Look what I can do that you can't." Otherwise, we spent the weekend doing laundry, yardwork, vacumning, grocery shopping, cooking, etc. It felt like a lot of family quality time, but was absolutely perfect.

"Dad, you need to be working a little faster, I heard we were going to the park after this."
Lilly sitting in the grass to the left, Addy 'working' in the exersaucer on the right.

"Oh my god, that's the best news I've heard since Aunt Cat told me they made Juicy sweatsuits for babies."--Lilly
"If I try really hard to stare at the camera, maybe she'll get that thing out of my face"--Addy
The shirt says it all... (Lilly)

"Seriously?"--Addy

"This is great, mom, just keep me away from that green prickly stuff, it totally freaks me out."--Addy
