IPhone Faves & My 3 year old on Facebook?

The heat wave continues and we feel like we've spent more time in bathing suits than 'real clothes.' The girls are loving every minute by the pool, evident by the rosy cheeks and long naps! My camera continues to be in the hands of Best Buy's Geek Squad, so this blog is dedicated to some favorite buried iphone photos enhanced by my new favorite app: Instagram. The girls are growing faster than ever and have begun the countdown to the 4th birthday--11 days. They're wish list varies daily and today included a bathtub with jets like grandma's. They've spent time at dance camp and vacation bible school over the last couple weeks, giving me some much needed time to prep for fall semester. However, their adventures have led to asking questions about jesus, death, heaven and hip-hop music. They are learning something new everyday. Sometimes I don't answer the questions and wait to hear how the other explains things. Addy always seems to be the most literal of the two but listens to every word I say and processes to herself only to revisit the topic days later. Questions are usually is tied to when she'll be able to do certain things--like chew gum, drink wine, get her ears pierced, drive a car, etc. So, nothing should surprise me, but yesterday I was surprised, when she said, "When I'm old like you, can I facebook?" My how the world has changed....

Back to the Grind...

Well, if "Back to the grind" you mean splash parks, blow-up pools in the backyard, sprinklers and A LOT of popsicles. It's tough being 2, right??? The important thing is that Addy has had no ill effects from the fall last week and only remembers it as the "boo-boo that made me go to the regergency doctor", so we are thankful! We've been dodging thunderstorms and having summertime fun. Knowing I can't put my baby in a bubble, I've done my best to just let things go. We went to our annual twins club summer picnic and the girls LOVED every minute of it. Enjoy the pictures below, most of them courtesy of the uber-talented Jennifer--so thanks!

Memorial Day Pictures

We spent Memorial Day weekend with Grandma & Grandpa Ash up at Lake Tippecanoe. The girls loved the boat, loved being outside and are still talking about the "turtles", "ishies", "boats" and their "aunt dee". Nothing like fun in the sun with family and friends--let the summer begin!

First Swim Lesson

We braved our first swim lesson at the YMCA on Monday. Grandma Jody is coming with me and we had a blast. Lilly surprised us by being totally into it, we were convinced she'd be the scaredy cat. Addy was apprehensive at first but we think by next week, she'll be fine. Here are some pictures...

Summer Fun

We survived another week! Lilly was finally diagnosed with an ear infection and fluid in the other ear so that explained her misery. Addy had "Hand Foot Mouth Syndrome". Is it just me or do my kids get some weird stuff? Anyway, it sounds worse than it was, but no medication, it just had to run its course. Both infections seriously impacted napping and sleeping, and the girls were more needy than usual, but we survived the week and managed to have a little fun. Both girls seem to be on the upswing. Here are some pics from our last week.
